Dear Colleagues,

While AERA celebrates its 100th anniversary, it is important to note that our Division is celebrating 45 years. From its start as a special interest group (SIG) in 1971, we now have over 500 members, with research interests in assessment, profession-al development, and teaching and learning. Under the leadership of Dr. Phil Bashook, the SIG became Division I in March 1978. I am looking forward to collegial exchange that is the real value of this meeting. See you in DC!
