AERA Journals Top 2012 Rankings for Education Research

AERA is proud to announce that three of its journals ranked in the top ten for the 2012
Journal Citation Reports (JCR),
which was released in June 2013. AERA’s journals are included in the Education and Educational Research category, which consists of 216 peer-reviewed scholarly journals from around the world.
A journal’s 2012 impact factor is the total number of 2012 citations to the journal’s 2010 and 2011 articles, divided by the journal’s total number of articles published those two years.
Review of Educational Research
(RER)
rose to the top of the rankings in the Education and Educational Research category, with an impact factor of 4.229.
“We are very pleased that
RER
is the top-ranked journal, and that all six AERA journals continue to receive high rankings,” said AERA Executive Director Felice Levine.
“The
JCR
rankings underscore the importance of the research published in our suite of journals,” Levine said. “The editors, authors, and reviewers are to be congratulated for their excellent work and high academic standards.”
The
American Educational Research Journal
climbed to the third spot with an impact factor of 3.104, and
Educational Researcher
once again appears in the top ten at number six with a 2.779 ranking.
Review of Research in Education (RRE)
made the most dramatic leap, rising to number 13 with an impact factor of 2.111; in the previous year it
ranked 24th.
Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis
placed 28th on the list with an impact factor of 1.489.
The
Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics (JEBS),
cosponsored by the American Statistical Association, ranked eighth out of 13 journals on the Mathematical Psychology list. It also placed in the top third of journals on the Education and Educational Research list (69
th
out of 216), while also turned to and used on the Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences list (25
th
out of 44).
