The goals of the SIG are to do the following:

• facilitate the sharing of research ideas and interests,
• encourage collaborative research efforts,
• stimulate interest in the relationship of research to improving the education of Deaf persons,
• promote excellence in research in this field,
• generate interest in the practical application of this research, and
• provide a forum for fellowship and collegial exchange for SIG members.
